Frequently asked questions

  • General finance questions
    How does vehicle finance work?

Vehicle finance lets you buy a car now and pay for it over time in instalments. We help you submit an application to a registered finance provider, who will assess your individual situation and, if eligible, offer you a loan.

Can I use my trade-in as a deposit?

Yes — you can use the value of your trade-in as part or all of your finance deposit.

Do I need a deposit to get finance?

Not always. Some lenders offer no-deposit finance depending on your income, expenses, and credit history.

Can I organise my own finance?

Absolutely. If you prefer to work with your own lender, you’re welcome to — but we recommend comparing the options we can assist with as well.

  • Applying for finance
    How do I apply?

You can either click the ‘Apply for finance’ button while viewing one of our vehicles or apply online here. We have a couple of options available, simply choose the one that suits you best.

What will I need to provide?

You’ll need to supply basic information such as your contact details, income, employment status, expenses, and ID. This helps the lender determine whether finance is affordable for you.

Will applying affect my credit score?

Some of our finance partners may carry out a credit check as part of assessing your application. This is called a credit enquiry, and it may appear on your credit report.

In some cases, multiple credit enquiries in a short period can affect your credit score. A single enquiry typically has only a minor impact, but this depends on your personal credit history.

Does applying mean I’m locked in?

No — applying simply lets the finance provider assess your situation and provide options. There’s no obligation to accept any offer or complete the purchase.

  • Repayments, rates & terms
    How are repayments calculated?

Repayments are based on factors like the loan amount, interest rate, term, and deposit. Our online calculator gives you a quick way to estimate what your payments might look like.

What interest rate will I get?

Interest rates vary depending on your credit profile, income, expenses, and the lender’s criteria. You’ll be provided with a personalised rate once your application is assessed.

How long can I finance a car for?

Loan terms typically range from 1 to 5 years, although some finance companies offer longer terms. We can help you choose a term that fits your budget and lifestyle.

  • Security & legal info
    Is my information secure?

Yes. Your information is encrypted and shared only with trusted finance providers in accordance with New Zealand privacy standards and regulations.

    Who provides the finance?

We don’t offer finance directly. Your finance agreement (if approved) will be with a registered New Zealand finance provider, subject to their lending criteria and responsible lending obligations.
